ROBERT DICK was born in Cambuslang about 1759.

AGNES ALEXANDER was born in East Kilbride on the 10th March 1782. (Transcribed from OPR)

Daughter of JOHN ALEXANDER, Portioner in Nerston (?), and AGNES STEVENSON.

John Alexander and Agnes Stevenson were married in East Kilbride on the 25th of July 1779. (Transcribed from OPR Ref. 643/2, FR551)

Robert and Agnes were married in June 1805. There are OPR entries for the 15th of June 1805 in Cambuslang (OPR Ref. 627/1, FR183) and the 28th of June 1805 in East Kilbride (OPR Ref. 643/2, FR576).

Robert and Agnes lived at Turnlaw Farm, Cambuslang. Their names are on a list of inhabitants of Cambuslang published in 1807. There is also an entry in the Hearth Tax Roll of 1691 for a Robert Dick at Turnlaw.

They are at Turnlaw on the 1841 census.

1. Agnes Dick, born in Turnlay (sic), Cambuslang and baptised on the 26th of May, 1807. (Transcribed from OPR Ref. 627/1, FR110)

   Agnes married Alexander Johnston, son of John Johnston and Agnes Thomson.

2. John Dick, born in Cambuslang and baptised on the 14th of September, 1809. (OPR Ref. 627/1, FR111)

   John is at Turnlaw on the 1841 census. His occupation is 'Grain Merchant'.

3. Robert Dick, born in Cambuslang c.1811.

   Robert is at Turnlaw on the 1881 census, married to Isabella Allison (b. Carmunnock c.1821). They had at least two children. Robert was informant on his mother's death. Robert died at Turnlaw on the 2nd of August 1882.

Robert died in 1851, according to the information in his will, which was read on the 8th of August 1851.

Agnes died at Turnlaw on the 16th of August 1863. (GROS Ref. 1863, 627, 61). Her son Robert was the informant.
