JOHN FROOD was born in Douglas about 1806. (Ref. 1851 census) However, the 1861 census has him born in Lesmahagow c. 1801, which corresponds to his age at the time of his death.

Son of Alexander Frood and Ann Wilson.

MARY MCILQUHAM was born in Glasgow about 1807. (Ref 1851 census) However, the 1861 census has her born c. 1805, and her age at death makes her born c. 1803.

Daughter of Walter McIlquham and Marion Williamson.

John and Mary are at Camnethan Old Kirk on the 1841 census and at Old Church Cottage, Cambusnethan, on the 1851 census. These are very probably the same address. On the 1861 census they are at Cartside Farm, Carmunnock.

Children:

ALEXANDER FROOD, born in Cambusnethan and baptised on the 14th of June, 1836. (OPR Ref. 628/3, FR596)

Married Ann Sinclair, daughter of Donald Sinclair and Ann Hartford.

Mary died at Clyde Street, Partick, on the 24th of January, 1872.

John died at East End Farm, East Kilbride, on the 1st of December, 1880.
