ARTHUR RUSSELL was born in Dunfermline on the 11th of February 1848.

Son of James Russell and Ann Morris.

Arthur was a Coal Miner at the time of his marriage, living in Rumblingwell.

JANE YOUNGER was born in Edinburgh on the 6th of July 1848.

Daughter of John Younger and Elizabeth Robertson.

Jane was a Power Loom Weaver at the time of her marriage, living in Pittencrieff Street.

Arthur and Jane were married in Pittencrieff Street, Dunfermline, on the 13th of July 1871.

Arthur and Jane are at 152 Pittencrieff Street on the 1881 census. His occupation is now Grocer. Jane, widowed, is at 117 Pittencrieff Street on the 1891 and 1901 census. Her occupation is also Grocer.

  1. Elizabeth Robertson Russell, born in Pittencrieff Street, Dunfermline, on the 16th of May 1874.

    Elizabeth's occupation is given as Milliner on the 1891 census. She married James Brough, a Joiner. She died at 44 Grieve Street, Dunfermline, on the 23rd of October 1945.

  2. John Younger Russell, born in Pittencrieff Street, Dunfermline, on the 2nd of December 1875.

    John's occupation is Cloth Lapper on the 1891 and 1901 census. He married Margaret Jane Waters (b. Dunfermline c.1876). He died at 84 Thistle Street, Dunfermline on the 12th of February 1947.

  3. Ann Morris Russell, born in Pittencrieff Street, Dunfermline, on the 12th of January 1878.

    Ann's occupation on the 1891 census is Shop Girl - presumably in the family business? She died at 117 Pittencrieff Street on the 16th of May 1892.

  4. Jane Younger Russell, born in Pittencrieff Street, Dunfermline, on the 21st of March 1880.

    Jane died at Pittencrieff Street on the 13th of April 1880, only 23 days old.

  5. Arthur Russell, born in Pittencrieff Street, Dunfermline, on the 1st of September 1881.

    Arthur's occupation on the 1901 census is Engineer Fitter. He married twice, first to Margaret Stewart and then to Elsie Craig. He died in Buchanan Street, Dunfermline on the 13th of May 1937. His usual residence was 29 Elliot Street, Dunfermline.

  6. Alexander Younger Russell, born at 152 Pittencrieff Street on the 23rd of April 1885.

    Alexander's occupation on the 1901 census is Cabinet Maker. He married Jane Ramage, daughter of Archibald Ramage and Margaret Dick.

Arthur died at 120 Pittencrieff Street on the 21st of September 1885. His death certificate gives his occupation as Coal Miner. The informant was his brother Alexander, of 20 Rumblingwell.

Jane died at 6 Victoria Street on the 12th of August 1936. The informant was her son John, of 84 Thistle Street.
