John and Janet were married in Blantyre on the 14th of August 1803. (OPR Ref. 624/1, FR410)

According to his daughter Margaret's death certificate, John was a 'Hawker'.

   Margaret married Thomas McWilliam, son of John McWilliams and Mary Mathers.
